Trick or Treating

Halloween Costumes 2009

This year the boys got to pick their costumes and Michael got to approve them and choose fabrics. After they chose and we bought the patterns Damion mentioned that a Knight slays Dragons... OOPS! Didn't think that far ahead! But it worked out in the end.

More Rainy Day Fun

Rainy Day Fun

A school holiday +
A big hole in the backyard (where a porch is SUPPOSED to be) +
A whole lot of rain =

2 really muddy kiddos! :)

Miscellaneous Weirdness

Along with the fact that Logan will not keep his clothes on, he is a major source of weirdness in our household... always. This day he decided that boxing gloves could be worn... on your feet??

Halloween Pumpkins

Dad successfully got two pumpkins carved with two children and there was no yelling or puking the ENTIRE time! I would say that is a completely glorious Halloween!

NC State Fair

I am never able to get good pictures of the boys at the Fair. There are too many people or it's too dark... whatever the case, they never come out well. But we had so much fun with Carla at the Fair this year. Logan was old enough to go on some of the rides and Michael got to try chocolate covered bacon! (eww...)

Doctors Around

What's better than a Vet Tech, a future vet, and a three year old playing a game of Operation? Yeah... nothing.

More Exotic Animals

Although not very "exotic," these ponies were fun for the both of them to ride.

MY FAVORITE!! I love cats and kittens and each year I love to look at the Lynx cross-breeds. They were not there this year, but the bengal crosses were! :)

Exotic Animal Show

The boys love to go to the Exotic Animal show in Raleigh each year. This year, Logan was actually old enough to walk around with us rather than be stuck in the stroller. He was also ALOT braver than Damion when it came to petting exotics such as the HUGE snake and the alligator!

This animal (forgive me I can not remember what the heck it is) got to sit upon their shoulders at a show!

Boys + Karate = Bad News

So, I am in the kitchen when I hear a shriek followed by Logan crying. "Great" I think... what did they do this time.

Logan comes running to me and I pick him up to see if he is okay. Damion tells me that he thinks that back of Logan's head is bleeding so I lay my look at my hand (that had been holding his head) and I see that I have blood pouring down my arm and dripping off my elbow!!
So now... even though I KNOW that head wounds bleed alot... I am NOT thinking this as I start screaming for the phone and running for the paper towels!

About 3 minutes later, I have my parents on their way, Mike coming home from work, Damion FREAKING out, bloody towels EVERYWHERE, and my fingers are ready to punch 9-1-1.
Fortunately, the bleeding subsided, I was able to see that it was a small-"ish" cut (smaller than I expected), and Logan seemed to be doing fine. Well, we waited about an hour to see what it would do and it continued to ooze... not really bleed... but not totally stopped.

Off to Urgent Care! Logan ended up with three staples in the back of his skull... poor kid! And at $357.00, we figure we spent $100.00 per staple and another $57.00 on a sticker and lollipop!!

Second Grade!

Seriously? Where does the time go?

FINALLY!!!!!

So it may have taken 7 years, 3 months, and 19 days... but Damion FINALLY lost his first tooth! The thing was loose for weeks and even had another tooth growing in under it!

He was thrilled that the tooth fairy decided that not only was it worth $5.00 (first tooth ONLY fee) but, she also left him a note saying that she lets kids keep their first one instead of taking it.

Gran Jan Baseball Birthday

Gran Jan is a diehard baseball fan, so when she decided that was where she wanted to spend her birthday the boys were very excited!!

They each got foam fingers (courtesy or cousin Ethan) and Gran Jan and Thomas got their name in lights! It was a fun night.

Escape artist!

For obvious reasons, Logan still has a gate attached to his bedroom door. We have been thinking of taking it down... but it had never been an issue... so why?

Well, Logan decided to let us know in no uncertain terms that it didn't matter if we kept the gate or not... it wasn't stopping him!

And talk about STEALTH! That kid did ALL THIS... and made a landing pad on the other side; snuck downstairs and scared the bejeebees out of us... all without a sound!! Should I be scared?

Summer isn't summer...

without some quality lawnmower time with Papa!
